Goa Youth Basketball Teams qualify for Level 1 Grouping
After decades the performance of the Goa Youth Cagers has been something to be proud about as both the boys and girls teams reached the losers Finals and have been henceforth upgraded to the Level 01 groupings of the 32nd Basketball National Championships. The youth boys had their first victory against Himachal Pradesh (49-42) on day two (14.09.2015) with the outstanding performance of Brandon Gabriel and Shawn Aranjo. The youth girls began well too crushing Bihar 38-10. The Boys next match was with the former champions Uttarakand, which was a close match to the last second and clinched away by Uttarakand on a buzzer beater to 63-60. In the following loser’s matches the youth boys played well against Pondicherry (49-28). Goa then had only to play with AP, and face Bengal in the finals. Due to incessant rains the first match was abandoned. In the finals however, Goan Youth Cagers went down fighting to Bengal (51-23).
