Dr Amar Jain
This young, enthusiastic, gentle, yet skillful personality will be ever remembered on Basketball court, for his neat and disciplined game. Amar Jain, now a medical doctor and doing a super specialization in radiology, is the most recent of goan cagers to have made it to the national basketball camp.
His passionate yet limited playing career was powerpacked in seven years (1995 to 2002), and that is all what mattered to get into this elite group of Goan cagers to be handpicked to attend the National Basketball Coaching camp. In his playing career Amar has played for prominent basketball clubs in Goa such as Celtics (under-14), Sharada Mandir School Team, KJs, and Don Bosco Oratory. His favourite position being the key shooting guard, and his swift moves on court made a player to be feared on court.
Amar has captained the Goan National Basketball team on various occasions and has represented Goa for over ten times. He is also the only player to be selected twice for the Indian National Camp. Unfortunately, his medical academic choice kept him away from participating in the second camp. The first camp was held from 1st to 18th June 2002.
