From the last year the GBA registration and transfer procedures have gone paperless and can be done online or via whatsapp/email. Each Team President/Secretary/Manager is provided with a username and password, with which s/he can initiate the transfer of the player following due procedure.

The Goa Basketball Association has announced it ‘Transfer Window  2020’ for all player transfer to be done for the current year 2020-2021. As discussed and deliberated a player is allowed to transfer only twice in a year: once during the transfer period, and the other during the rest of the year.

In an official email to the clubs/Teams, the GBA has instructed the following:

  1. Clubs requesting transfer, must write to GBA the name and Registration No. Of the player and seek ‘No Objection’ from the earlier Club. The online transfer can be initiated by Club President/Secretary using the password provided.
  2. If no response is received from the earlier club, by the end of the transfer window, the transfer will be automatic and considered approved.
  3. Those players no longer part of the club and still on the rooster, need to be indicated by the club. These players will be moved to the reserved category of GBA.
  4. Club Registration will be complete only on payment of Annual Fees: `1000/- per team of 12 players + `100/- per extra player. Payments need to be made in the GBA office.

All correspondence to GBA need to be done on the official email ID – As is normally done, all official communiqués will be done through the official website:

Once the player list is complete, the Team representatives are expected to complete filling the details of the players as requested on the website.

GBA from this year are going to keep records of players and teams of their performance at each event. These details will be made available on the official website. This next step will be effective is the registration procedures are carried out successfully. We are grateful to all the members, players, patrons for their constant support for the development of Basketball in Goa.
